PEUGEOT is breaking new ground in the automotive industry by integrating ChatGPT, a generative artificial intelligence developed by OpenAI, into its latest generation of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Initially available to 5,000 customers, the pilot phase has been expanded to 10,000 due to overwhelming demand.

Activating the ChatGPT functionality is as simple as saying, “OK PEUGEOT.” This voice command initiates the onboard assistant, allowing users to make requests on virtually any subject. Whether asking for historical information about local landmarks or seeking navigation guidance, ChatGPT provides life-like responses that enhance the driving experience.

ChatGPT is available in the i-Cockpit® of all the latest-generation PEUGEOT models equipped with connected navigation, including the new 208, 2008, 308, 308 SW, 408, new 508 & 508 SW, new E-3008, new E-RIFTER, new E-TRAVELLER, new E-PARTNER, new E-EXPERT, and soon the new E-5008. Customers with eligible models can activate ChatGPT via the PEUGEOT Service Store, with the pilot phase offering the system for free for 6 months.
Following the pilot phase, PEUGEOT will gather user feedback to refine the technology before deploying ChatGPT to all customers who own an eligible connected vehicle. During this initial phase, ChatGPT will be offered to PEUGEOT customers in their native language in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

PEUGEOT’s pilot phase offers ChatGPT for free for six months to eligible customers in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The initial cap of 5,000 customers has been doubled to 10,000 due to a subscription rate exceeding 50% within just a few days. Following this phase, user feedback will be instrumental in deploying ChatGPT to all customers with eligible connected vehicles.
A Collaborative Effort
This new service integrates technologies from SoundHound’s Chat AI platform alongside OpenAI’s ChatGPT. It’s important to note that ChatGPT version 3.5 utilizes data up until January 2022, and thus does not include information on events or data occurring after that date.
